Inviter (Sponsor) Function On Social Points System

This took a while to figure out, but previously Runaway had a Sponsor function on the Friends menu. This feature is supposed to help players advance through the Social Points System to unlock the Apoyo Moth Set.

This Sponsor function is now renamed to Inviter.

What is this Inviter thing?

When you select a friend as your Inviter, you are sponsoring your friend Social Points when you level up your Flutterpedia score.

How do I set a friend as my Inviter?

If you are under Social Level 10, you are eligible to set someone as an Inviter. Be careful in doing so because you can only do this Once.

Click on the Globe in the Starlight bottom menu and open up your Friends window.

At the bottom of the Friends window, there should be an "Inviter" button. Select a friend, then click on "Inviter".

It's the INVITER buttons and NOT Invite +.

After you have chosen someone as an Inviter, that button permanently disappears from the game forever.

What happens after I select a friend as an Inviter?

You don't get anything boo hoo, but your lucky friend can now benefit from your progress in the game!

So for example if you level up your Flutterpedia to a certain score, the friend earns social points from your achievement! He gets 10 points immediately when you make him your Inviter. When you reach a Flutterpedia score of 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 respectively, he gets an additional 25 points for each milestone you make.

If you select an Inviter only after you reached a Flutterpedia score of 4000, your lucky friend still gets all 135 social points immediately.

Do this during a Double Social Points event to give x2 points! Check out this guide on the Fastest Way To Earn Social Points for an explaination.

How do I know if someone has made me their Inviter?

Lucky you! If someone has chosen you to be his Inviter, you will see a purple globe next to his name in your friends list.

On the other hand, if you have picked someone to be your Inviter, that friend's name will appear in orange on your list.

It is a good idea for new players to look for someone to exchange Inviters based on mutual trust for a win-win situation. Alternatively, you can invite a friend to download the game and then ask him to do you a favour by setting you as an Inviter.

Why can't I find my Inviter button?

If you do not have the Inviter button on your Friends List, it could be due to the following reasons.

1) You have already set someone previously.  Check your Friends List and see if there is anyone highlighted in Orange.

2) You are above Social Level 10, and therefore past the ability to set a sponsor.

3) You did not use the Inviter function for quite a long while, and therefore the game automatically assigned your Inviter status to a friend who had sent you a game Invite previously. (Thanks Lizzie for this input!)

So if you want to exchange your Inviter status with another friend, do it before it's gone!

To end off, hopefully this guide has cleared up the confusion on Sponsoring and Inviting. Technically they are both the same thing, just one renamed after another. Also, the basic Invite + icon on everyone's game is different from the Inviter icon. The Invite + button only lets you send invites to your friends to bug them into trying out the game, but even if your friend downloads Starlight and starts playing it, you do not get any rewards for the referral unless he sets you as his Inviter manually. (Or until the game automatically assigns it to you.) So maybe you can throw him a friendly reminder to do you a nice favour~! Hee hee... :P

Happy Starry Fluttering~! ♥

Night
