After I posted about the drop rates of flowers from Toad Delicacies, Bethany Harris-Cooper from Flutter DYNASTY suggested that we should observe the flower drop rates from normal fireflies!
*** Challenge Accepted~! ***
For the past month or so, both of us collected about a thousand fireflies each and fed them to Trevor. I sold off all my existing flowers before starting on the experiment, so it will be easier to grab the final numbers off my flora inventory. However, Bethany painstakingly recorded each result in order! (Hats off to her~!) She is interested to find out how often rarer flowers drop consecutively back to back.
Here are our tabulated results. Numbers are rounded to the nearest decimal point.
From a sample size of 1013 Fireflies by Bethany Harris-Cooper:
- Polilla - 74 (7.30%)
- Hoshi - 75 (7.40%)
- Silva - 58 (5.73%)
- Hawkmoth - 38 (3.75%)
- Apoyo - 20 (1.97%)
- Chausiku - 18 (1.78%)
- Estrella - 24 (2.37%)
- Mythic - 11 (1.09%)
- Common - 166 (16.39%)
- Uncommon - 118 (11.65%)
- Rare - 36 (3.55%)
- Epic - 12 (1.18%)
- Legendary - 5 (0.49%)
- Small - 135 (13.33%)
- Medium - 168 (16.58%)
- Large - 28 (2.76%)
- Lunar - 27 (2.67%)

From a sample size of 1011 Fireflies by AuroraNights Nami:
- Polilla - 60 (5.93%)
- Hoshi - 65 (6.43%)
- Silva - 55 (5.44%)
- Hawkmoth - 45 (4.45%)
- Apoyo - 11 (1.09%)
- Chausiku - 23 (2.27%)
- Estrella - 21 (2.08%)
- Mythic - 27 (2.67%)
- Common - 158 (15.63%)
- Uncommon - 124 (12.27%)
- Rare - 44 (4.35%)
- Epic - 10 (0.99%)
- Legendary - 2 (0.20%)
- Small - 125 (12.36%)
- Medium - 196 (19.39%)
- Large - 26 (2.57%)
- Lunar - 19 (1.88%)
It seems that our numbers are fairly consistent with each other. Bethany seems to have better odds at getting the more important flowers, while I am not as lucky and I tend to get more mediocre ones.
I guess it is safe to assume that the percentages above reflect the true drop rates of the flowers in Starlight rather accurately. However, do digest these numbers with a pinch of salt as results do vary across players. You may experience similar or different scenarios, if you have your own numbers to share, we'd love to hear from you~! :D
Once again, thank you Bethany for this awesome suggestion and your efforts in collecting all these data!!! ♥♥♥
Happy Starry Fluttering~! ♥
Cheers,
Night
