If you noticed that your Starlight game is taking up a huge chunk of space on your device, maybe it is time to clear and re-download the game data to free up some storage space.
As you play the game, miscellaneous game data are stored in your device (logs, video ads etc). These data chunks accumulate over time and it would be a good idea to spring clean your device once in a while.
The 2 methods I use to clear unwanted app space are clearing Cache and clearing Data.
Clear Cache
Refer to a previous guide here on how to clear your game cache.
Clear Data
Please make sure you have a strong Wifi connection before proceeding to clear your game data. Re-downloading all the app updates is quite data hungry!
1) Close your game and go to your device Settings and select Apps / Applications Manager
2) Tap on Starlight
3) For newer devices you may need to tap on the Storage option
4) Click on Clear Data
5) After you click on Clear Data, you should see that the counter for Data is reset to 0.00 B.
6) Launch Starlight and it will automatically re-download all the app updates. After you log into Starlight, check back and you should see that the game now takes up considerably less storage space on your device!
If you do not clear your data periodically, you may sometimes find that the game takes up a lot of space. Some players have complained about their game being more than 1GB!
Here are some other screenshots from my tab to show how much space I could free up by clearing data:
Before cleating game data: 378 MB |
After clearing game data: 261MB That's a difference of 117MB! |
For iOS Users
Unfortunately for iOS users, you have to manually delete and reinstall the app to free up storage space.
For more details, refer to Step 2 of the guide on Macworld here.

For Android users, the same effect also applies if you delete and re-install the app from Google Play.
Happy Starry Fluttering~! ♥
